William Henry Hoffman, Sr.

William Henry Hoffman, Sr., 93, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. He was born March 13, 1922, in McKeesport, PA, the son of the late Jesse Hughie Hoffman, Sr. and Ida (Beck) Hoffman. William graduated in 1940 from McKeesport High School. He joined the United States Army Air Force October 30, 1942 and served during World War II until his honorable discharge on February 21, 1946. He was united in marriage on July 14, 1947, in Wilkinsburg, PA to Madeline Evelyn "Madge" Harris who preceded him in death on January 1, 2006. William worked for Westinghouse in the Atomic Division and later in the Transformer Division retiring after 34 years of service in 1986 as a Supervisor. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Survivors include: two sons, William "Bill" Hoffman, Jr., (Donald Coldwell) Santa Cruz, CA; Richard (Sue) Hoffman, Lucas, TX; two grandchildren, Taylor Hoffman, Alex Hoffman; one brother, John Hoffman, White Oak, PA; and one brother-in-law, Richard Harris, Forrest Hills, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Catherine Hoffman and Sarah Hoffman; and one brother, Jesse Hoffman, Jr. Visitation will be 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. John Schmitz, officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to a charity of the donors choice.
