Wilfred George Loethen, 94, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Jefferson City Manor. He was born October 7, 1923, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Frank Joseph and Emma Josephine (Willmeno) Loethen. He was a 1943 graduate of St. Peter High School. Wilfred served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Wilfred was united in marriage on May 3, 1947, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City to Margaret Louise Fischer who preceded him in death on September 13, 2015. He worked for thirty-nine years as a pressman and foreman for the News-Tribune until his retirement in April of 1987. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, St. Marys Auxiliary, and was a volunteer for the Samaritan Center. Wilfred is survived by five children, Judy (Gary) Tripp, Taos; Linda (Francis "Fritz") Verhoff, Westphalia; Rosemary (Richard) Heidbreder, Lohman; Connie (Stephen) Boeckman, St. Martins; and Mark (Laurie) Loethen, Liberty; twelve grandchildren, Julie (Scott) Walters, Debbie (Blaine) Kremesec, Shelley (Kevin) Richter, Doug Tripp, Ryan (Ashley) Heidbreder, Natasha (Fred) Gladbach, Lindsay Boeckman, Brandon Boeckman, Shannon Loethen, Emily (Garrett) Rosio, Rachel Loethen, and Zachary Loethen; eleven great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren with two more on the way next spring; and one brother, Alfred (LaJean) Loethen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Veronica Loethen; and four sisters and their husbands, Evelyn and Pete Eilenberger; Mary and Edward McKenna; Helen and Felix Falter; and Irma and Calvin Glover. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
