WILLIAM JOSEPH KREMER

William Joseph Kremer, 73, died Friday, November 18, 2011, at his home in Jefferson City surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 18, 1938, in Jefferson City, a son of Alois and Margaret (Koecher) Kremer.
He was married on June, 21, 1969, in Jefferson City to Margaret Ann Weiler who survives at the home.
He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and was a 1956 graduate of St. Peter High School.
He received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from Lincoln University in 1962, where he also participated in the ROTC program. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964, serving thirteen months in Korea before being honorably discharged with the rank of Captain.
He was employed by the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department as a Program Coordinator in Information Systems from 1964 until he retired in 1995.
Mr. Kremer was a member of Saint Joseph Cathedral where he served as a Lector, Communion Minister, and Greeter. He was a member of the Saint Joseph Men's Association; the Saint Joseph Cathedral Council No. 12992 of the Knights of Columbus; and was an officer in the Dan C. Coppin Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus where he also served on the Honor Guard.
He was a member of Learning in Retirement; Jefferson City Marriage Encounter; and Joy Small Community. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He served as a Tax-Aide for many years for the American Association of Retired Persons. He supported the American Red Cross through his frequent blood donations. He participated in the Show-Me Games, the State Games of America, and the State Senior Games where he won many medals in the shot-put, discus, and hurdles. He coached baseball and basketball and enjoyed bowling and golfing.
An avid fan of Helias High School where he volunteered once a week for many years, he attended Helias sporting events when possible.
Other survivors include two sons, Greg Kremer, Jefferson City; and Jeff (Colleen) Kremer, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Carson Kremer and Caitlyn Kremer; one brother, Tom Kremer, Montgomery City, Mo.; and one sister, Sister Linda Kremer, S.S.N.D., Providence, R.I.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2011, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating, and the Rev. Mr. James Kliethermes assisting as Deacon.
Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 2:30-6 p.m. Sunday, November 20th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2 p.m.
