WILFRID HENRY ADRIAN

Wilfrid Henry Adrian, 84, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Capital Region Medical Center. He would have celebrated his 85th birthday on Christmas Day. He was born on Dec. 25, 1921, in Jefferson City, the son of Theodore Herman and Rosa Frances Iven Adrian. He was married on May 29, 1948, in Jefferson City to Teresa Margaret Lueckenhoff who survives at the home. In early years, Mr. Adrian worked at the International Shoe Factory and then began the Wilfrid Adrian Backhoe Service from 1954 through the 1970s, having the first backhoe in the Jefferson City area. He was a grain and cattle farmer and an insurance agent for German Mutual Agency. A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, he was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church where he served as an usher and he was a board member of the Farm Bureau for over fifty years. Other survivors include one son, Ronald Adrian, St. Martins; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda McElwaine, Jefferson City, Pat and Ken Conger, California, Marilyn Adrian, St. Martins, and Shirley and Ralph McIlwain, St. Martins; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Irene Adrian, Jefferson City; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Alfred Eggen. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22nd, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church, 7148 St. Martins Ave, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or St. Martin Catholic School, 7206 St. Martins Ave., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
