VIOLA EUNICE HAWKINS

January 13, 1924 — May 19, 2008

Viola Eunice Hawkins, 84, of Jefferson City, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on Jan. 13, 1924, in New Florence, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Cordie Clark Johnson. She was married on Dec. 24, 1955, in New Florence to Albert Junior Hawkins who survives at the home. Mrs. Hawkins was employed for many years with Lincoln Lab School, and for several years with the former Cheseborough Ponds Company. She was a member of One In Christ Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board, Mission Board, and Trustee Board. Other survivors include fourteen children and their spouses, Carolyn Connor, Lees Summit, Mo.; Janice Watson, Jefferson City; Phillip and Wanda Connor, Jefferson City; Ernest Connor (Rhonda), Holts Summit, Mo.; Craig Hawkins-Bey and his wife, Kelly, Jefferson City; George Hawkins (Charlene), Columbia, Mo.; Renee and Shannon Kelly, Spring Hill, Kan.; Mary Hawkins-Wahid and her husband, Hakim, Jefferson City; Delroy and Ann Hawkins, St. Paul, Minn.; Stanley Hawkins, Jefferson City; Shirley and William Perry, Grandview, Mo.; James Hawkins (Jodie), Lincoln, Neb.; and Fred Hawkins, Raytown, Mo.; thirty-two grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Johnson, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Cordie Clark Johnson; one son, Paul Hawkins; one grandson, Tyron Hawkins; two sisters, Mable Appleton; Mildred Hudson; and five brothers, Ernest Johnson; Floyd Johnson; Edward Johnson; Leo Johnson; and James Jinks Johnson. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at One In Christ Baptist Church with the Rev. James Howard officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 23rd, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, 1944-A East Sunshine, Springfield, MO 65804.
