VICTOR GERHARD STEGEMANN

October 23, 1919 — May 12, 2008

Victor Gerhard Stegemann, 88, of Jefferson City, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family. Victor was born October 23, 1919, in Folk, MO, a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Mary (Bexten) Stegemann, the youngest son of eight children. He attended school in Folk, MO, where he received perfect attendance certificates. Education was never taken for granted, as he worked very hard on the family farm. On February 15, 1947, he was united in marriage to Irene C (Renkemeyer) Stegemann in Vienna, Mo., who preceded him in death on October 26, 1990. And to this union, eight children were born. Victor was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Victor was a co-owner of the Stegemann Brothers Garage. He then worked for Adrians Materials, United HRB general contractor as shop foreman and Laborers Local 662 retiring in 1985. Victor was an accomplished mechanic, well known for working on cars and lawn mowers. Victor enjoyed playing Bingo at the DAV and country music and loved to dance. He was an avid fiddle player, a loyal St Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed working in his garden. His priorities in life were faith, family, and helping others. Victor was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and was an usher. He is also survived by six children. Jeanette Steele (husband Charles), Jefferson City; Kenny Stegeman (wife Mary), Marys Home; Karen Stegeman, Marshall; Dennis Stegeman (wife Mary Ann), Holts Summit; Deborah Branson (husband Louis), Dale Stegeman, Steve Braun (son-in law) all of Jefferson City. 14 Grandchildren: Brian Stegeman, Nicole Wilbers (husband Dale), Jeffrey Steele, Ryan Stegeman, Scott Stegeman, Patrick Stegeman, Melissa Moeller (husband Chris), Bryce Branson, Sam Stegeman, Tyler Branson, Adam Stegeman, Shelby Braun, Klint Braun, Dalton Stegeman. Six Great Grandchildren: Mikaela, Charles, and Cole Wilbers, Christopher and Madelyn Stegeman, Collin Moeller. Two Step-Great Grandchildren and two Step-Great-Great Grandchildren. Also, many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two children: Stanley J. Stegeman on March 2, 1982, Donna Sue Braun on March 13, 2005. Four brothers: Allie, Lawrence, Charles and Norbert Stegemann. Three sisters: Cassilda Kempker, Anita Barker and Agatha Crede. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory L. Higley officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 1206 E.
