VELMA CLEMENTEEN TRIGG

November 5, 1918 — December 30, 2006

Velma Clementeen Trigg, 88, of Ashland, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006 at Ashland Healthcare. She was born on Nov. 5, 1918 in Tebbetts, MO, the daughter of Ernest and Allebell Roots Cave. She was married in May, 1935 in Warrensburg, MO to John Henry Trigg who died on October 10, 1983. Mrs. Trigg worked as a clerk for the Missouri Department of Revenue for many years. She loved going to church, singing gospel music, and started the Eight Gospel Notes. She lovingly raised her granddaughter, Mary Peaches Trigg. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Marrion Luvinia Richmond, Compton, CA; seven grandchildren, Mary Frances Trigg, Columbia, LaRhonda Polite, John Henry Richmond, Delfonta'Richmond, Marshon Richmond, Veltina Richmond, and Rachelle Ferguson all of Compton, CA; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Grace Marie Trigg; one brother, Hubert Cave; and one niece, Shirley Sayles. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Second Baptist Church, 501 Monroe St., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
