Tony Jeremiah Grandison

Tony Jeremiah Grandison, 74, formerly of Jefferson City, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Missouri Veterans Administration Home in Mexico, MO. He was born on Dec. 30, 1931 in Norfolk, VA, the son of Jeralee and Frances Gregory Grandison. He was married on Aug. 17, 1955 in Evanston, IL to Thelma Lucille Adams who died on Dec. 16, 2001. Mr. Grandison graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA; received the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978 from Kean College in Union, NJ; and the Master of Divinity degree in 1989 from New York Theological Seminary. He was employed with the Chicago Transit Authority; El Al Airlines in New York City; Prudential Life Insurance Co.; Newark Housing Authority; and retired as a Claims Adjuster with the New Jersey Department of Social Services. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. An ordained ministry, he served as an assistant pastor for several churches in northern New Jersey Survivors include one daughter, Linda Grandison West and her husband, Eugene, Jefferson City; four sons, Tony J. Grandison, II and his wife, Zondra, Jefferson City; Brian Grandison, Minneapolis, MN; David Grandison and his wife, Deborah, Ballwin, MO; and Kevin Grandison and his wife, Eva, Cincinnati, OH; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Grandison, Norfolk, VA; and Lawrence Grandison, Ft. Washington, MD; three sisters, Mary Bullock, Brooklyn, NY; Shirley Otte, Chesapeake, VA; and Helen Paschall, Virginia Beach, VA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Gregory and George Grandison. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Pastor Alphonse Webb officiating. Burial will full military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to House of Refuge Building Fund, 1904 Tower Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
