THEODORE DANIEL BRENDEL

Theodore Daniel Brendel, 73, of Westphalia, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at his residence. He was born on January 14, 1936, in Freeburg, the son of Henry and Agnes Margaret Bauer Brendel. He was united in marriage on September 28, 1957, in Westphalia to Catherine Sophia Borgmeyer. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2008. A farmer all his life, Theodore was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Richard Boessen, Westphalia; Mary and Dave Wibberg, Linn; Pat and Joe Wankum, Columbia; four sons and three daughters-in-law, William and Patti Brendel, Columbia, Il; Steve Brendel; Charlie and Barb Brendel; Harold and Sarah Brendel, all of Westphalia; eighteen grandchildren, Jonathan, Clayton, Cecilia, Dalton, Katrina, and Claire Boessen; Melissa, Matthew, Mollie Jo, Joey, Kristine Wibberg; Andrew, Jessica, Jennifer, Eric Brendel; and Lauren, Abby, Allie Wankum; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Rose Strano, Spring, TX; Ida Lynn, Laurel, Maryland; Emma and Herbert Rackers, Taos; one brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Bernadette Brendel, Westphalia; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Brendel, St. Martins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; his son, John Brendel; a granddaughter, Lydia Boessen; three sisters, Regina Rothove, Gertrude Bexten, Una Brendel; and three brothers, Adolph, Leo, and Ernest Brendel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Philip M. Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O.
