Steven Joseph Asher

Steven Joseph Asher, 58, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born April 21, 1957, in St. Louis, MO the son of William Wright and Elsie Mae (Camden) Asher. He was united in marriage on July 14, 1977, in Denver, Colorado to Diana Jewel Frauenhoff who survives. Steven worked for over 23 years as a corrections officer with the Missouri Department of Corrections. He also had worked in the security field. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jefferson City. Steven enjoyed building Balsa wood model airplanes and large model ships, he also built award winning kites with his sons, and did his own car repairs. He was an avid reader including books by some of his favorite authors, Clive Cussler, James Patterson, Tom Clancy, John Grisham, and Terry Pratchett. Steven also enjoyed motorcycles, cars, camping, fishing, music, and dogs. Steven was an inspiration to his three sons, his three grandsons, his nieces and nephews, and many other children. Survivors include: his wife, Diana Asher, Jefferson City; his mother, Elsie Asher, Jefferson City; three children, Bobby (Rachel) Skaggs, Warrensburg; Steven Asher, Seattle; Jonathan Asher (Fiance, Rachel Penn), Columbia; three grandchildren, Max Asher Black, Joseph Fike, Lucas Fike; and six siblings, Chuck (Maggie) Asher, Salem, MO; Rhiannon Asher (Craig Daniels) Lawrence, KS; Marianne (Tommy) Asher-Chapman, Holts Summit; David (Diane) Asher, Rolla; Genny Asher, Holts Summit; and Cindy Asher (J.D. Portman) Rolla. He was preceded in death by his father, William Asher; and a niece, Michelle Angela Yarnell. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4618 Henwick Lane, Jefferson City, MO. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
