Shirley Ann Prenger

Shirley Ann Prenger, 71, of Taos, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born on June 16, 1941, in Bonnots Mill, Missouri, the daughter of the late Paul John and Elizabeth Barbara (Dudenhoeffer) Kliethermes. She was united in marriage on October 12, 1963, in Bonnots Mill, to Vincent Henry Prenger who presides at the home. A homemaker, she also worked at the Gerbes bakery for over 19 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, and St. Ann's Sewing Circle. She was very involved with all church functions and served as a poll worker. She will be most remembered for her cooking, cake baking and decorating. As a wedding gift to her many nieces and nephews, she would make their wedding cake. Other survivors include: a son, Glenn Edmund (Jackie) Prenger, St. Thomas; a daughter, Anita Margaret Witthaus (friend, Philip Schulte), Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Shane (Sabrina) VanDeBerg; Josh Witthaus; Elizabeth Prenger; Jacob Prenger; and Isaac Prenger; two great-grandchildren, Bently VanDeBerg and Abel VanDeBerg; two brothers, Harry (Bernice) Kliethermes, Linn; Edgar (Marlene) Kliethermes, Bonnots Mill; four sisters, Elsie LeCuru, Jefferson City; Laurine (Bernard) Heet, Taos; Alvina Jaegers, Bonnots Mill; and Dorothy (Walter) Thessen, Wardsville; and two sisters-in-law, Irene Kliethermes, Loose Creek and Eva "Maggie" Kliethermes, Taos. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Kliethermes and Oscar Kliethermes. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with the Rev. Roberto Ike officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Taos. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be 8-9 a.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 7319 Rt. M, Jefferson City, Mo 65101. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
