SYLVIA RUBINI HUBER

November 21, 1925 — December 17, 2009

Sylvia Rubini (Vidalakis) Huber, 84, of Jefferson City, Mo passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, at her home.
She was born November 21, 1925 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of the late George and Roumpene (Stravazakis) Vidalakis. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology from the University of Illinois where she met her late husband, Herman W. Huber. The two were married on June 16, 1951, at St. Francis Xavier College Church in St. Louis, MO., and relocated to Jefferson City, MO. Sylvia enjoyed spending the majority of her time with her family, as well as, traveling, reading, listening to political pundits commentary, overseeing her construction project, patronizing the Arts, and dinning with her many dear friends. She also enjoyed working as the lead administrator at her sons Jefferson City orthodontic practice for the past twenty years. Her memberships included: Cathedral of St. Joseph, the Jefferson City Country Club, the Janus Club, and St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary.
Sylvia is survived by her brother, Michael Vidalakis of Joliet, IL and by her four children: William G. Huber, his wife, Lisa and children Eric, Dana and Andrew of Independence, MO; Thomas A. Huber of Jefferson City, MO; Steven J. Huber, his wife, Jayne and children, Whitney, Sydney and Steven Maxwell of Jefferson City, MO; and James M. Huber, his wife, Elizabeth and two sons, Michael and David, of Jefferson City, MO. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Herman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Jefferson City, with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Sylvia was a strong advocate for providing excellent educational opportunities for children; she was instrumental in establishing a scholarship fund at the Vogelweid Learning Center at St. Peter School. Memorials are suggested to the Vogelweid Learning Center and to the Carmelite Monastery of Jefferson City.
