STORM TATE RUSSELL

July 29, 1950 — August 21, 2012

Storm Tate Russell, 62, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday August 21, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 29, 1950, in Oregon City, Oregon, the son of the late George Russell and Ethel Naidine (Tate) Russell-Smith.
He received his Bachelors of Arts from the University of Missouri Rolla and his Masters in Criminology from Lincoln University.
Storm served with the United States Army during Vietnam with the 1st Infantry Division, the 2nd 34th Armored Division (known as the Dreadnaughts), and with the Royal Coachman. He was awarded the Bronze Star and various other medals.
He was united in marriage on March 22, 1980, in High Gate, Mo, to Marilyn Jane Dahl who resides at the home.
Storm worked as a deputy for the Boone County Sheriffs Department, a deputy with the Mohave County Sheriffs Department in Arizona, a State Trooper with the Nevada State Police, an undercover officer with the Narcotics unit with the Jefferson City Police Department, investigator for the Missouri Fugitive Investigator Unit, and retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections Board of Probation and Parole on October 1, 2005.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Jefferson City and various military organizations.
Other survivors include: two sons, Matthew Elliott Russell, Columbia; Andrew Weston Russell, Jefferson City; one sister, Gena Beth Russell, Sweet Home, Oregon; two half-brothers, Tom Russell, Oregon; Tim Russell, Oregon; and an aunt, Olga Russell Book, Bullhead City, Arizona.
He was also preceded in death by an uncle, Addison Russell.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Jefferson City, with Dr. Doyle Sager, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at High Gate Church Cemetery, High Gate, Missouri.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
