STEVEN CHARLES KLENC, KC0ACQ

Steven Charles Klenc, 53, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on September 26, 1949 in Clayton, Missouri to Charles Daniel Klenc and Ethel Frances Schwerak Klenc, who survive in Jefferson City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2003, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2003, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Marion J. Makarewicz. Memorials are suggested to the American Radio Relay League, 225 Main Street, Newington, CT 06111. Those wishing to send condolences or tributes to the family may do so at www.dulletrimble.com He was a graduate of Hazelwood High School in Florissant, MO; attended the University of Missouri at St. Louis; received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree both in Horticulture from the University of Missouri; and did advanced studies in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kansas. He was a Licensed Landscape Architect in Missouri and Kansas. He was employed with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Parks Division for a number of years, serving as Grounds Manager for the State Capitol. He retired in October 2002 as Construction Manager for Capital Improvements with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources where he had been employed for more than 25 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. Mr. Klenc was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; was a federally licensed Amateur Radio operator holding the call sign of KC0ACQ; and was immediate past secretary of the Mid-MO Amateur Radio Club.
