SR. MARY MAXELINDA HEIMERICKS, F.S.M.

February 25, 1903 — November 7, 2005

Sister Mary Maxelinda Heimericks, F.S.M., passed away very peacefully on Monday evening, Nov. 7, 2005, at St. Mary of the Angels Convent in Richmond Heights, MO, at the age of 102. She was born on Feb. 25, 1903, in Wardsville to Gerhard and Caroline Weber Heimericks. At the age of six, she moved to Taos. At the age of 11, her mother died leaving her the eldest and caring for her six siblings. She entered the Sisters of St. Mary order on May 3, 1921. At the time of her death, she was the oldest in age and in her vocation. Although she was a lady of few words, her smile, her wit, and her ability to remember silly stories drew relatives and friends to her side. Her fair skin was as soft and as beautiful as that of a baby and she always thanked the Good Lord for making her that way. She is survived by twenty-three nieces and nephews, Jane Avery, Jerome Talken, Carrie Landtiser, Georgia Rudroff, Gilbert Talken, Maxelinda Cleveland, Stanley Talken, Frances Talken, Barbara Poetker, Catherine Andres, Bernard Talken, Dorothy Brauner, Betty Hammond, Anna Marie Knaebel, A.J. Heimericks, Larry Heimericks, Betty Stegeman, Helen Vieth, Bobby Weavers, Ruth Ann Wolters, Raymond Wolters, Norma Maasen, Rita Lueckenotte; and a large number of great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Henry Heimericks, Lawrence Heimericks and Albert Heimericks; and three sisters, Leona Talken, Eleanor Weavers and Clara Wolters. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at St. Mary of the Angels Convent, Richmond Heights, MO, with the Rev. Andrew Lewandowski, O.F.M., officiating. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, St. Mary of the Angels Convent, 1100 Bellevue Avenue, Richmond Heights, MO, with a wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Tribute Fund, 1100 Bellevue, St. Louis, MO 63117.
