Rosemary Eleanor Prenger

Rosemary Eleanor Prenger, 72, of Taos, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on June 30, 1941, in Taos, the daughter of the late Edmund Anton and Margaret Frances Rustemeyer Prenger. A 1959 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia, Miss Prenger was employed with Kress Store, Saffees, Towne Grill, CenturyLink and its antecedent companies for twenty-eight years until her retirement in 2007. A member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos, she will be remembered for always trying to have family dinners during the holidays and spoiling her nieces and nephews whenever she had a chance. Survivors include a very special friend of many years, Leonard Shockley, Jefferson City; six brothers, Norbert Prenger, Warrenton, Missouri; Vincent Prenger, Clarence (Wilma) Prenger, and Edmund (Janet) Prenger, all of Taos; Leonard Prenger, Long Beach, California; and Walter (Marilyn) Prenger, Russellville; three sisters, Catherine Ann (James) Phillips, Camdenton, Missouri; Angeline Prenger, Taos; and Irma Even, Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters-in-law, Margie Prenger, Delores Prenger, and Shirley Prenger; one brother-in-law, Bill Distler; and one niece, Shirley Lockett. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. Wayne M. Boyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Taos. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
