Ronald Blaine Wilson, 82, of Jefferson City, died in his sleep Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Westbrook Terrance Assisted Living Facility, Jefferson City, Missouri. Ron was born April 30, 1933, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the son of the late William Bird Wilson and Gladys Elizabeth (Adkins) Wilson. Ron was united in marriage on June 24, 1967 in Dublin, California, to Genevieve Ann Schumacher, who resides at the home. Ron received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 1964 from University of Southern California; a Masters in Science in Education in 1969 from California State College, Hayward; and a Masters in Psychology in 1978 from University of Berkeley, California. Ron served with the United States Navy in the Korean Conflict. In earlier years, Ron worked for the State of Missouri Department of Mental Health. Later, he was a licensed clinical social worker for Pathways Community Behavioral, retiring in 2011. Ron was passionate about helping children and families in their times of need. The numbers of children and families that he has helped are too vast to be counted but his impact on their lives will remain for years to come. Ron was an active member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and served as head usher for many years. He also volunteered to continue helping those in need through Hospice and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Other survivors include four children; Scott, Tod, Sarah, and Zachary and wife Annie; thirteen grandchildren; Drew, Elizabeth, Abby, Sofia, Dallas, Olivia, Grace, Zachary, Hannah, Zane, Jacob, Alexander, and Abram, and siblings; Lillian, Ila, Jerilynn, Brenda, Penny, Bill, and Kathy. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earl Wilson and George Wilson, and two sisters, Beverly James, and Jackie Cubertson. A private funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Resurrection Mausoleum with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Entombment was in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to a children's charity of the donor's choice. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
