Robert V. Grosvenor, 84, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born on May 5, 1930, in Aurora, Nebraska, the son of the late Verne and Helen Gertrude Pence Grosvenor. He was married on June 8, 1958 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Janice Elaine Trimble who survives at the home. A 1948 graduate of Aurora High School, he attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the cavalry. He retired as an executive with Sinclair Oil Company with whom he had served in Rapids City, South Dakota, Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska. Following retirement in 1979 the couple moved to Lake of the Ozarks which they enjoyed very much. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and was active in Yesterday's Kids; Shiloh Lodge No. 327, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Omaha Nebraska; and Winterset Dance Club at Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. Other survivors include three sons, Gregg (Debbie) Grosvenor, Lohman, Missouri; Jeffrey (Denise) Grosvenor, Jefferson City; and Todd (Pamela) Grosvenor, Overland Park, Kansas; six grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Riggs, Jefferson City; Amanda (Adam) Bax, Jefferson City; Ryan, Blake, and Chad Grosvenor, all of Jefferson City; and Allison Grosvenor, Overland Park, Kansas; four great-grandchildren, Preston Kuttenkuler, Haley Bax, Dalton Riggs, and Dillon Riggs; and one niece, Trudy (Dr. Bryan) Bredthauer, Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Saunders. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tom Vansant officiating. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery in Eldon, Missouri. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 24th, at Wesley United Methodist Church.
