Robert John "Bob" Wilson, 91, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Columbia. He was born on March 8, 1924, in Elmira, New York, the son of the late Ralph Tracy and Caroline Cone Wilson. He was married on July 4, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Rosemary Jane Bruegging who survives at the home. A graduate of Horseheads, New York, High School, he attended the Kansas City Art Institute. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and Korea. Mr. Wilson retired as Art Director with the Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance Company where he was employed for forty years. Known as the "common man's artist," a number of his caricature works decorate the walls of area businesses and homes. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. An avid reader, he enjoyed writing stories and collecting toys. He was a federally licensed Amateur Radio operator holding the call sign KBKOY. Survivors include three children, Janice K. Wilson; Steve R. (Sheila) Wilson; and Gary L. Wilson, all of Jefferson City; and one granddaughter, Kayla Wilson, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Wilson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Christopher M. Aubuchon officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army, 927 Jefferson Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or a charity of the donor's choice. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
