Robert John Thompson

Robert John "Bob" Thompson, 63, of Westphalia, Mo., died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at his residence. He was born on September 21, 1951, in Jefferson City, the son of the late John Harding "Bud" Thompson and Laurine Margeretha Luecke Thompson. He was married on April 19, 1986, in Jefferson City to Deborah Jean Kempker who survives at the home. A 1969 graduate of Russellville High School, Mr. Thompson was employed with International Shoe Co. from 1968 to 1980, and Von Hoffman Press from 1980 to 1985. He was a self-employed carpenter from 1985 to 2005 after which he worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections until his retirement in 2013. He served with the Missouri National Guard from 1970 to 1976. Mr. Thompson was a member of Teamsters Local 833 and had been a 4H Leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horsemanship and greatly enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Other survivors include two daughters, Holly Thompson, Jefferson City; and Ivy Kempker, Westphalia, Mo.; four grandchildren, Ceaira Thompson, Shyanne Miller, Aidan McMullin, and Brady McMullin; and four siblings, Elizabeth Kaiser, Jefferson City; Carole Frank, Bridgeton, Mo.; Patricia (Jerry) Parish, Jefferson City; and Larry (Judy) Thompson, Russellville, Mo. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Phil Kaiser. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri.
