Richard James Rippeto

Richard James Rippeto, 87, of Jefferson City, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on August 5, 1926, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Clay Rippeto and Lela Rippeto Kennedy. On May 14, 1949, he was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Harbur at Immaculate Conception Church in Maplewood, Mo. She survives at the home. Mr. Rippeto served in the United States Army Engineers during World War II. Upon his return, he was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. in St. Louis transferring to Central Missouri area in 1965, where he was employed until he retired in 1984. He enjoyed cattle farming, oil painting, and playing golf. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Janet (Dale) Branson, Jefferson City; Mark (Vicki) Rippeto, Excelsior Springs; Karl Rippeto, Lake Ozark; and three grandchildren, Adam Branson, Ross Branson, Patrick Rippeto. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Paul Rippeto. Private services where held on Friday at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Chapel with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating. Entombment was in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the Samaritan Center, P.O.
