Raphael Emil Eynard, 80, of Holts Summit, Mo., died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Oak Tree Villas.
He was born on December 30, 1933, in Jefferson City, the son of the late James John and Clara Elizabeth Baumgartner Eynard.
A 1951 graduate of Loose Creek High School, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri in 1955.
Mr. Eynard served for more than twenty years with the United States Army including service during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era eventually reaching the rank of Major.
He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Holts Summit, and greatly enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and collecting.
He is survived by one son, Scott E. Eynard, Houston, Texas; two brothers, James E. (Agnes) Eynard, Jefferson City; and Wayne L. (Kathy) Eynard, Bonnots Mill, Mo.; one sister, Wanda (Ron) Walker, Taos, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Donehue.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Gregory L. Higley officiating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
