RUTH JEAN BOCKLAGE

Ruth Jean Boots Bocklage, 77, formerly of Westphalia, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at her residence in El Paso, Texas. She was born on February 14, 1927 in Westphalia, the daughter of Eugene Henry and Mary Bernadine Mayme Schmidt Werner. She was married on June 30, 1956 in Westphalia to Ambrose Ignatius Bocklage who died on December 6, 1992. She was preceded in death by one son, Bradley Bocklage; and two sisters, Doris Schauwecker and Rose Mahon. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2932 Mohawk, Jefferson City, MO 65101. A homemaker, Mrs. Bocklage resided most of her life in Westphalia until moving to Jefferson City in 1996, and most recently to El Paso, Texas. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Ellen Bocklage, El Paso, Texas; and Russell and Cathy Bocklage, Raleigh, North Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jim Sand, Athens, Ohio; and Jean and Chuck Jones, Great Falls, Montana; nine grandchildren, Diane Bocklage; Kara Bocklage; Anne Sand; Sara Sand; Andrew Jones; Lainey Jones; Matthew Bocklage; Claire Bocklage; and Benjamin Bocklage; one sister, Lil Cavender, Westphalia; and one brother and his wife, James and Yvetta Werner, Jefferson City.
