RUTH ELIZABETH DOERING

March 14, 1930 — August 1, 2012

Ruth Elizabeth Doering, 82, of Holts Summit, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 14, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo, the daughter of the late Carl and Lottie Louise (Grantham) McNeely.
She was a 1948 graduate of McKinley High School.
She was united in marriage on November 12, 1949, in St. Louis, to Norman W. Doering who survives at the home.
Ruth worked in bookkeeping and accounting for Southwestern Bell Telephone, Kroger, and Sears.
Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, Able Learning Center, and First United Methodist Church Newborn Nursery. She also helped with the Churchs newsletter, organized a quilting group at the church, and she would quilt each year for the Festival of Sharing at Central United Church of Christ.
Ruth was a member and past president of Daytime Newcomers and past treasurer of Hawthorn Garden Club.
Ruth made two mission trips to the Henderson Settlement in Frakes, Kentucky.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dennis (Nancy) Doering, Jefferson City; Gary (Kathy) Doering, Windsor, Co; four grandchildren, Julie (Gregg) Kuhlmann, Brad (fiance, Stephanie Naddaff) Doering, Kelli (Brian) Bolger, Jonathan Doering; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Kuhlmann, William Kuhlmann, Caitlyn Bolger, Jett Bolger; and one sister, Carlotta Dalton, Wildwood, Mo.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jones and Doris Jones; and two infant brothers.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Hilty officiating.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
