ROSEMARY ANN RIEKE

October 25, 1917 — September 19, 2005

Rosemary Ann Rieke, 87, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on Oct. 25, 1917 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Judge Henry John and Helen Roer Westhues. She was married on Dec. 27, 1943 in Jefferson City to Otto Edward Rieke who died on Oct. 27, 1984. Mrs. Rieke was a 1935 graduate of St. Peter High School, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1939 from St. Mary College in Leavenworth, Kansas. A homemaker, she was employed in earlier years as a Medical Technologist at St. Marys Hospital. She spent the rest of her life dedicated to the well-being of her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Immaculata Club; and St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary. Survivors include five daughters, Sr. Susan Rieke, S.C.L., Leavenworth, KS; Sally Papreck, Columbia, MO; Mary (Michael) Murphy, Dublin, Ireland; Terry (Dr. John) Lyskowski, Jefferson City; and Molly (P.J.) Reardon, Kansas City, MO; four sons, Otto Rieke, Jr., Overland Park, KS; Henry J. (Judy) Rieke, St. Louis; Pete (Brenda) Rieke, Jefferson City; and Tim (Luanne) Rieke, Jefferson City; twenty-eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Marie Bebe (Henry) Staub, Minneapolis, MN; Sr. Joan Cordis, Bangladesh; Jane (Paul) Schmidt, Phoenix, AZ; Elaine Westhues, Mesa, AZ; and Marilyn (Robert) Evans, St. Louis; and one brother, the Rev. Msgr. Jack Westhues, Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Michael Rieke; and Gabriel Rieke. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan, the Rev. Msgr. Jack Westhues, and the Rev. John Long concelebrating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Helias Foundation, POB 694, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0694; Carmelite Monastery, 2201 W.
