Robert Lee Fowler, 77, of Lake Ozark, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at University Hospital, Columbia. He was born on October 22, 1926 in Lavonia, the son of Jerney Edwin and Hazel Followell Fowler. He was married on June 19, 1990 in Camdenton to Marian H. Luadzers Clickner who survives at the home. Other survivors include his son, Robert L. Fowler, Jr., Oakville, MO; his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Curtis DeZeeuw, Smithton, IL; three grandchildren, Samuel, Sydney, and Sarah DeZeeuw; a brother, Ray Fowler, Unionville, MO; and five half-brothers, Harold Fowler, Raytown, MO; Wayne Fowler, Bettendorf, IA; Charlie Fowler and Bill Fowler, both of Unionville, MO; and Tom Fowler, Tucson, AZ. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City, with the Rev. Jerrol L. Boehmer officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. An active politician and member of the Democratic party, Mr. Fowler was a six term member of the Missouri House of Representatives representing District 69 in the St. Louis area from 1972 to 1985. He was a former mayor and councilman of Berkley, MO, and served as county clerk of St. Louis County. He was employed in earlier years as a pipe fitter and later served as Area Supervisor with the Missouri Tax Commission; was a program specialist with the Missouri Department of Community Affairs; was an administrator with the Missouri Agriculture Emergency Fund; served as a member of the Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission; and retired in 2002 as a consultant with the University of Missouri. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Fowler was a member of Saveh Lodge No. 646, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in St. Louis; St. Louis Consistory, A.A.S.R.; Moolah Shrine Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S.; and was a life member of AMVETS Post No. 55, St. Louis.
