ROBERT EDWARD JENS

Robert Edward Jens, 78, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, September 25, 2004, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. He was born on August 6, 1926 in Jefferson City, the son of Oscar Henry and Laura Ottman Jens. He was married on August 2, 1959 in Jefferson City to Mildred Katherine McFarland Larkin who survives at the home. Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Annie Jens, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Ricky Jean Baxter, Sapulpa, Oklahoma; and Lynette Wiles, Jefferson City; two step-daughters and one-step-son-in-law, Nancy and Mike Vivion Jefferson City; and Carol Larkin, St. Louis; three grandchildren, Eric Jens; Darren Jens; Ashley Jens; Angela Kennedy; and Laura Rayburn; one great-granddaughter, Ella Kennedy; one brother, William Jens, Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and one sister, Betty Gafke, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Alvin Jens; and two sisters, Ruth Marian Milligan; and Dorothy Fae Rupp. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2004, at the Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. A United States Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Jens retired in 1989 as a pressman with Von Hoffmann Press where he had been employed for forty-four years. He was a member of Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003; Roscoe Enlow American Legion Post 5; and was past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693.
