ROBERT CLARK HARVEY

Robert Clark Harvey, 94, of Silver City, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Silver City Care Center.
He was born on October 11, 1918, in Meriden, Kansas, the son of the late Jesse and Mernie Clark Harvey.
He was married on March 8, 1944, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Eva May Thurman of Galesburg, Kansas, who preceded him in death on July 28, 2009.
Mr. Harvey was a 1936 graduate of Sweet Springs, Missouri, High School. He played trombone with his brother, Bill, in a dance band called the Red Hots which performed live music for Radio Station KDRO 1490 in Sedalia, Missouri.
He served as a dental technician with the U.S. Army during World War II where he served in the China, Burma, India Theatre of Operations.
After raising four sons in Independence, Missouri, and retiring in 1982 as an electrical technician with Remington Arms Company, he and Eva moved to Alamo, Texas.
Robert was a member of the Valley Cats, a vocal group that performed at local nursing homes. He was a charter member of the Hacienda Estates Jam Session Club that performed every Thursday evening. He contributed to the Alamo Good Samaritan organization and served as Deacon of the Alamo First Baptist Church.
In January, 2009, he and Eva moved to Silver City, New Mexico, where he participated in activities at the Senior Citizens Center. He lived at the Santa Clara Assisted Living Home (Beehive) during the summers where he leaves many dear friends.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen (Dr. Ann) Harvey, Jefferson City, Missouri, and Silver City, New Mexico; Mark (Gina) Harvey, Linn Valley, Kansas; and John (Crystal) Harvey, Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren, Robert Harvey, Jefferson City; Jeff Harvey and Josh Harvey, both of Kansas City, Kansas; and Jonathan Harvey, Justin Harvey, and Kristin Schleicher all of Minot, North Dakota; one sister, Eleanor Thurman, Naples, Florida; and one daughter-in-law, Jan Harvey, San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Harvey; three brothers, LeRoy Harvey, Albert Harvey, and William Harvey; and five sisters, Mabel Lemmons, Myrtle Killion, Anna Kendrick, Dorothy Hendrix and Winnifred Parlett.
Funeral services, including military honors, will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent W. Trimble officiating.
Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday, December 15th, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Galesburg, Kansas.
Visitation will be 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 13th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
