RAYMOND JOSEPH KLIETHERMES

Raymond Joseph R.J. Kliethermes, 89, of Taos, died Thursday, September 16, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on January 10, 1915, in Loose Creek, the son of Theodore and Amelia Favier Kliethermes. He was married on July 22, 1940 in Jefferson City to Mathilda Frances Holzer who survives at the home. Other survivors include six daughters and their husbands, Audrey and Ralph Dietzel; Pauline and Arthur Gentges; Grace and Jim Harvey; Teresa and Jerry Ferguson; and Carol and Mike Sisson, all of Jefferson City; and Erma Moskalski, Taos; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Kliethermes, Taos; and Dan and Rita Kliethermes, New Bloomfield; eight grandchildren, Jerry Jenkins; Theresa Terri Haake; Matt Ferguson; Sara Gentges; Brian Gentges; Joyce Jenkins; Cory Kliethermes; and Curtis Kliethermes; and four great-grandchildren, Josh Jenkins; Janet Jenkins; Cameron Haake; and Bryce Haake. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ann Kliethermes; and five brothers, Arthur, Edward, Elmer, Clarence, and Paul Kliethermes. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2004, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Taos. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, 7307 Route M, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or the National Federation of the Blind of Jefferson City, 1826 Mississippi, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Mr. Kliethermes was employed in farming and in construction with Hunter Brothers Construction, Propst Construction, and Price & Daly Construction until retiring in 1981. He later served as a custodian with the Missouri Adjutant Generals office. During the 1930s he served with the CCC Corps. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, and the Knights of Columbus. He loved playing his harmonica, listening to the radio, and spending time with his family.
