Pauline Elizabeth Gannon

Pauline Elizabeth Gannon, 100 years old, of Jefferson City, formerly of Westphalia, died Sunday, September 01, 2013, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City. She was born on July 18, 1913, in Argyle, Missouri, the daughter of the late John Arnold and Elizabeth Catherine (Holterman) Brunnert. She was married in St. Louis, Missouri on December 20, 1934, to Francis "Frank" Gannon who died on May 30, 1979. A homemaker, Pauline also worked at Oberman's Pants Factory and International Shoe Company in Jefferson City. She volunteered at the Westphalia Hills Nursing Home in Westphalia and loved to play Pinochle with her friends. In her later years she was employed by Father Cronin as a parish cook in Westphalia and Loose Creek. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia; St. Ann Sodality; and St. Ann Sewing Circle. She loved fishing, quilting and cooking for her family. Survivors include one son, Bob (Judy) Gannon of Springfield; four daughters, Sharon Murphy of Negley, Ohio; Jean Buersmeyer and Joan Philbert of Jefferson City; and Jackie (Blaine) Luetkemeyer of St. Elizabeth; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Sylvester Brunnert of St. Louis; and one sister, Hilda Neihaus of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Maria Gannon; three sons-in-law, Dale Murphy of Negley, Ohio; Bob Philbert of Jefferson City; and Rick Buersmeyer of Westphalia; six brothers, Steve Brunnert, Fred Brunnert, Tony Brunnert, Larry Brunnert, Herman Brunnert, and infant William Brunnert; and three sisters, Marie Thefeld, Rita Redel, and Anna Wilde. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia.
