Paul Hugo Graessle

Paul Hugo Graessle, 88, of Wardsville, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born on June 25, 1925, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Louis Hugo and Lydia Stockman Graessle. He was married on December 2, 1950, in Jefferson City to Joan Loretta Rothove who survives at the home. A U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, Mr. Graessle received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Lincoln University in 1988. He owned and operated Graessle's Conoco Quick-Stop in Wardsville for many years. After retirement he was employed as an accountant with H&R Block Company. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville; the Wardsville Lions Club; and coordinated Duplicate Bridge Clubs in Jefferson City and Columbia for many years. Other survivors include four children, Steve Graessle, Kansas City, Mo.; Lisa Graessle, Wardsville, Mo.; Luke (Melodi) Graessle, Rocky Mount, Mo.; and Julie (Jim) Floyd, Florissant, Mo.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don Graessle, Kansas City, Mo.; Jack (Mary) Graessle, Eldon, Mo.; and Tom (Agnes) Graessle, Taos, Mo.; and two sisters, Mary (Urban) Brandt, Jefferson City; and Helen Odendahl, St. Louis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Graessle and Phil Graessle; and two sisters, Virginia Carol and Ann Falter. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. Michael A. Coleman officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Private family visitation will be held at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
