PHILLIP JAMES LUEBBERT

Phillip James Luebbert, 65, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, February 17, 2008, at his residence. He was born on March 6, 1942, in Jefferson City the son of Philip Sylvester and Catherine Agnes Brandel Luebbert. He was united in marriage on December 29, 1986, in Jefferson City to Darla Kay Haslag who survives at the home. Mr. Luebbert was a United States Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Ranger Air Craft Carrier from 1959-1963. Phillip owned and operated Capitol Barber Shop from 1963-1980. For the last eighteen years, Phillip worked for Riley Chevrolet. Mr. Luebbert was appointed to the Missouri Barber Board as secretary-treasurer by Gov. Christopher Kit Bond from 1973-1978. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Other survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Eric Luebbert, Jefferson City; Chad Luebbert and Dr. Ricarda Ganjam, Washington D.C.; Brad and Sarah Luebbert, Elizabethtown, KY; Brandel Luebbert, of the home; one daughter, Jasmine Rustemeyer, Columbia; four grandchildren, Sidney Luebbert; Sophia Luebbert; Skylar Luebbert; Maddy Luebbert; one sister, Sr. Nadine Luebbert, San Antonio, TX; and one brother, Sam and Angie Luebbert, Manassas, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; Bertha Luebbert; Bernice Bee Rackers; and three brothers, Clinton Luebbert; Edwin Luebbert; and Donald Butch Luebbert. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Community Hospices of America, 2418 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to the Cosmopolitan International Diabetes Center, One Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO 65212.
