Peter Dale Borman, 83, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at University Hospital in Columbia.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1927, in Carlinville, Ill., the son of the late Frank Charles and Florence Dullard Shaiper Borman.
He was married on Feb. 6, 1954, in Jefferson City to Bertha Lee Betty Nentwig who survives at the home.
A 1945 graduate of Carlinville High School, Mr. Borman was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He retired in 1991 as a salesman with Major Brands Distributing Company in Columbia where he had been employed for eighteen years. He had previously worked as a printer with the News Tribune Publishing Company for twenty-five years.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where he served with the Holy Name Society and Prayer Group; Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus; Mended Hearts, Inc.; Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post 5; Railwood Golf Course; and St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary.
Mr. Borman loved spending time with his family and friends, and greatly enjoyed golf, cards, and being at the clubhouse.
Other survivors include five children, Paul (Valerie) Borman, Austin, Texas; David (Anne) Borman, Birmingham, Ala.; Mary Borman, Columbia, Mo.; Mark (Wanda) Borman, Henley, Mo.; and Chris (Beth) Borman, Dallas, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney) Borman, Jefferson City; Eric Borman, St. Charles, Mo.; Peter A. Borman, Birmingham, Ala.; Brent Borman and Brad Borman, both of Austin, Texas; Claire Borman and Elena Borman, both of Dallas, Texas; Ben Stafford, Richmond, Va.; Fran Stafford, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Rosemary Stafford and John Stafford, both of Birmingham, Ala.; and one great-grandson, Landon Borman, Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorine Weatherford, Anna Mae Borman, and Pauline Fox; and two brothers, Frank Borman, Jr., and Leonard Borman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City, with the Rev. Basil Euro officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:30- 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1st, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
