PAULINE ANGELINE GERLING

Pauline Angeline Gerling, 95, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged. She was born on Oct. 19, 1909 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Rudolph and Martha Haverkortt Spieker. She was married on May 17, 1934, in Jefferson City to Steve Joseph Gerling who died on Oct. 16, 1987. A graduate of St. Peter High School, Mrs. Gerling retired on Jan. 1, 1973, as a typist with the Missouri State Purchasing Department where she had been employed for twenty-six years. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald L. and Vera Gerling, Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Ronald Gerling, Lees Summit, MO; Brenda Davis, Jefferson City; Paula Lorson, Bridgeton, MO; and Kathy Surface, Jefferson City; and seven great-grandchildren, Carissa Buckalew; Zachary Buckalew; Christina Binkley; Kayla Binkley; Jason Binkley; Bridget Lorson; and Nolan Lorson. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Paul Spieker; and three sisters, Mayme Haake, Anna Williams, and Bernadine Jansen. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald W. Lammers officiating. The Rev. Mr. Tom Gerling will serve as Deacon at Mass and Homilist. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
