Paul Amos Eggen, 70, of Jefferson City, died Friday, November 12, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on November 22, 1933 in St. Martins, the son of Herman and Lillian Beatrice Carel Eggen. He was married on August 25, 1956 in Jefferson City to Janet Louise Phillips who survives at the home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2004, at St. Joseph Cathedral with the Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City & Mid-Missouri, 601 E. High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Mr. Eggen was the last manager of Sav-Mor Grocery where he was employed for eighteen years. He later was employed for twenty-one years as a salesman with Butternut Bakery. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1955 to 1957. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; American Legion Post 5; and Knights of Columbus. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerome T. and Cindy Eggen, Centertown; and Jerold L. and Maureen Eggen, St. Thomas; five grandchildren, Jennifer Brunner; Michele Eggen; Joseph Eggen; David Eggen; and Lucas Eggen; one great-grandson, Christopher Brunner; one brother, Alfred Eggen, Jefferson City; two sisters, Martha Haller, Freeburg; and Dorothy Simone, Kansas City, MO; and one step-sister, Virginia Guerdan, St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence Eggen; and one step-brother, Cecil Bernskoetter.
