Olivia Buersmeyer

Olivia Buersmeyer, 101, of Jefferson City, MO died April 30, 2017, at Heisinger Bluffs Senior Care Center. She was one of seven children born to Casper J. and Emma (Aholt) Buersmeyer. She was a graduate of Westphalia High School and attended Lincoln University. She was employed by the Missouri State Auditor in 1936 and transferred to the newly-created department of Revenue in 1945. In 1966, she was employed by the State Treasurer, and was a Fiscal Officer in that department when she retired in 1982. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City and of the Women's Altar Society. She was a member of Church Women United, The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, and the Westphalia Historical Society. She was a founding member of Mid-Missouri Birthright. She was also active in various other local charitable, civic and church organizations. Survivors include one brother, Cyril Buersmeyer, Dearborn, Michigan; as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sister M. Flavia Buersmeyer of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, and Joan Buersmeyer; and three brothers, Wilfred, Marvin, and Carl Buersmeyer. Olivia donated her body to the University of St. Louis School of Medicine. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
