NORBERT BERNARD SCHULTE

August 21, 1916 — July 26, 2004

Norbert Bernard Schulte, 87, of Jefferson City, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Oak View Skilled Care. He was born on August 21, 1916, in Jefferson City, the son of Joseph Christian and Emma Eveler Schulte. He was married on October 5, 1940, in Jefferson City to Ruby Dell Stewart who died on September 14, 1991. Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Rita Schulte, Centertown; six grandchildren, Leslie Schulte, Douglas Schulte, Andrew Schulte, Nicole Strong-Pemberton, Jamie Strong, and Stewart Strong; three great-grandchildren, Lane Schulte, Eli Schulte, and Braydon Pemberton; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester Chub and Pat Schulte, and Edgar Toots and Mary Schulte, both of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Strong; two brothers, David Schulte and Donald Schulte; and one sister, Loretta Schulte. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. James M. Smith officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to The Special Learning Center, 1115 Fairgrounds Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109 Those wishing to email condolences to the family may do so at www.dulletrimble.com Mr. Schulte was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving during the D-Day Normandy Invasion. He was employed with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Life Member of Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003; a Life Member of the Oliver Buehrle Chapter 17 of Disabled American Veterans; and a life long blood donor for the American Red Cross, donating over 13 gallons of blood. He was a member for many years of the Jefferson City Red Birds baseball team.
