Mildred Frances Hoelscher, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at St. Joseph Bluffs.
She was born June 23, 1928, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late August and Laura (Lage) Toebben.
She was united in marriage on October 5, 1948, in Taos, Missouri to Clarence Frank Hoelscher who preceded her in death on October 7, 2015.
Mildred was most happy when around her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Mildred worked as the office manager for Public Water Supply District 1 for over 20 years. In addition, she was also the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Clarence Hoelscher Construction, Inc.
She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and the Women's Sodality. She also volunteered during the Cathedral Christmas Bazaar for many years, and helped in the St. Joseph School library. She enjoyed square dancing, cross stitching, embroidering, making ceramics, and playing cards. Mildred and her husband traveled widely having visited all 50 states, every major league baseball stadium, Europe, and the Vatican.
Survivors include seven children, John (Debbie) Hoelscher, Augusta, Missouri; Charles (Wanda) Hoelscher, Eugene, Missouri; Fred (Pam) Hoelscher, Jefferson City; Mary (Mike) Swenson, Jefferson City; Emily (Mike) Nesheim, Manahawkin, New Jersey; Cindy (Matthew) Soule, Kansas City, Missouri; and Mike Hoelscher, Jefferson City; twenty-four grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Alma Rodeman and Delores Rodeman; and four brothers, Herbert, Cletus, Richard, and Wilfred Toebben.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
