Melody Hill, 67, of Holts Summit passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at University Hospital, Columbia.
She was born January 21, 1955, in San Diego, CA to the late Loren and Marion (Cross) Pyle. After graduating from high school in 1973, Melody enlisted in the U.S. Army. She served overseas in Germany and South Korea. In 1978, she married William Hill in Seoul, South Korea. After 20 years of dedicated service, Melody retired in 1994 having achieved the rank of Supply Sergeant. She then attended Drury University graduating with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts and Education and began her second career as a middle school English teacher in the Belle, MO school district until retiring in 2011.
Melody loved taking her grandkids on trips to Branson, MO. She also loved her rescue cats and always made sure they were well taken care of. Whether it was making Hearts for Heroes, knitting, scrapbooking, painting, pottery or making jewelry, Melody loved making all different types of crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of Holts Summit, three children, Jason (Misty) Hill of New Bloomfield, Heather (Veronika Hodosiova) Hill of St. Louis, Morgan Hill of Jefferson City, four grandchildren, Jacob, Macy, Dorian and Aiden Hill and four sisters, Roberta (Roger) Daniels of Crossville, TN, Lorenda Villines of San Diego, CA, Robin Galloway of New Bloomfield and Danita (Bob) Berg of Rolla.
Private family services will be held. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
