Mary Margaret Hentges

April 14, 1912 — March 28, 2002

She was born in Jefferson City to Henry Adam and Anna Mary Antweiler Hentges. She served as a medical assistant to Dr. F.W. Gilham for twenty years, and later with Dr. G.D. Shull. From 1954 until her retirement in 1977 she was employed as secretary to the Chief of Office Services of the Missouri Division of Employment Security. She is survived by a niece, Cindy Turner, Qunicy, Illinois; a great-nephew, Brian Turner, Quincy, Illinois. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; the Ladies Sodality; was a fifty-year member of Cardinal Glennon Circle No. 322, Daughters of Isabella; was a charter member of Girl Scout Troop No. 1 from whom she received Girl Scouting's highest award, the Golden Eaglet Award; and in 1974 received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Red Cross for her work as a recruiter and coordinator. Memorials are suggested to the Carmelite Monastery, 2201 W. Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or St. Peter Church Capital Improvement Fund, 216 Broadway, Jefferson City, MO 65101. She was a 1930 graduate of Jefferson City High School.
