Mary Joy Reven, 66, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, September 14, 2017, at The Timbers in Holts Summit. She was born on November 30, 1950, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late John Hughes Brown and Mary Ruth Diemler Brown. Joy was employed for twenty-six years with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Water Pollution Program, retiring in 2009 as a Management Analyst Specialist. She was a volunteer with the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and a Cole County Election Judge. She enjoyed physical fitness, needlework, bike riding with her brother Jim, and was an avid walker, reader, and fan of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. Most of all, Joy enjoyed spending time with her children and hosting family get-togethers. Survivors include three children, Benjamin Reven; Sarah (Michael) Zolezzi, St. Louis; and Luke (Michelle Wade) Reven, West Chester, Pennsylvania; and four siblings, Jim (Diane) Brown, Jefferson City; Dick (Diann) Brown, Wirtz, Virginia; Ann (Dave) Kyzar, Hastings, Florida; and Jane Brown, San Diego, California. A visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Louis Area Foodbank, 70 Corporate Woods Drive, Bridgeton, MO 63044; or to Planned Parenthood Great Plains whose donation instructions can be found on their website. Her final wish was that everyone do one kind act in her memory. Those wishing to email tributes or condolences to the family may do so at the www.dulletrimble.com website.
