Mary Ellen Kirkweg

Mary Ellen Kirkweg, 85, of Jefferson City, died Friday, March 07, 2014, at Golden Living Center. She was born January 28, 1929, in Aurora, Missouri, the daughter of the late Emmett Edward and Theresa (Breitenstein) O'Dwyer. She was united in marriage on June 20, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City to Clarence John Kirkweg who still survives. Mrs. Kirkweg worked for Cargill on the production line in California for many years. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and was devoted to praying the rosary. Other survivors include: three children, Linda Kirkweg, Jefferson City; Susan Anderson, Kansas City; Robert (Barbara) Kirkweg, Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Nicholas Anderson and Megan (Matt) Brucks; two brothers-in-law, Don Welch, Jefferson City; Alfred (Mary) Kirkweg, Centertown; and four sisters-in-law, Eleanor Edwards, Jefferson City; Anna Lou Kirkweg, Eldon; Dolores (David) Bax, Jefferson City; and Delphine (Louis) Toebben, Taos. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anna Jane Fischer and Catherine Welch; and a brother, Robert O'Dwyer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Masses or to a charity of the donor's choice.
