Mary Dolores Pringer

Mary Dolores Pringer, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.

Lovingly known as “Babe” by many, Mary was born on April 11, 1924, in Jefferson City to the late Frank H. and Minnie Lee (Blank) Bohmann. She married Cletus Carl Pringer on April 27, 1948, in Jefferson City and together they have a daughter, Diana. Cletus preceded Mary in death on July 23, 2010.

Mary worked at the Overman’s Pants Factory until it closed in 1957. At that time she stayed home to raise her family, care for the children of friends, and then later on, her own grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and VFW Auxiliary.

She enjoyed reading and tending her flowers. She loved to bake especially the Christmas cookies her grandchildren enthusiastically requested every year. In later years she transferred her nurturing spirit to her beloved dog, Bear.

Survivors include a daughter, Diana (Dennis) Strickland, Jefferson City; two grandsons, Jeffrey (Andrea) Strickland, North Carolina, and Christopher (Brandy) Strickland, Jefferson City; four great-grandchildren, Kale Strickland, Kassidy Strickland, Landon Strickland and Reagan Strickland; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Bode, Osage Bend; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Pringer, Wardsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus; a sister, Anna Geraldine (Hyla) Crocker; and two brothers, Gilbert (Rosemary) Bohmann and Sylvester (Bridget) Bohmann.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2019, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeremy Secrist officiating.

Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church and St. Peter Catholic School.
