Marvin Herman Kempker, 56, of Jefferson City/Wardsville, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 8, 1959, in Jefferson City, the son of Lloyd August and Barbara Bertha (Schaeffer) Kempker. He was united in marriage on May 10, 1986, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church to Jane Ann Lage who survives at the home. Marvin was a jack of all trades working in construction, carpentry, and maintenance. He currently was working for the State of Missouri Office of Administration in maintenance. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville. Marvin and his wife, Jane, loved to travel and were members of the Sandals Silver Cup Club. Marvin enjoyed gardening, hunting, camping, boating, canning, and cooking wonderful meals for his family and friends. The most important aspect of his life was his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jane; his two children, Sydney Kempker and Simon Kempker of the home; his father, Lloyd Kempker, Jefferson City; and two siblings, Doris (Dale) Boeckman, Taos; and Roy Kempker, Tebbetts; one niece, Katie (Wade) Horstman, Tebbetts; four nephews, Jason (Courtney) Boeckman, Glendale, CA; Riley Boeckman, Jefferson City; Casey Kempker, Jefferson City; Richard Stoll, Tebbetts; and one great-niece, Faith Horstman. On Sunday, Marvin reunited with his mother, Barbara Kempker. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Entombment will be in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the Marvin Kempker Donation Account in care of Mid America Bank, 1511 Friendship Road, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
