Mark H. Sullivan, 75, of Jefferson City, died suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on May 25, 1932, in Fairbury, Neb., the son of Edward and Florence Crowley Sullivan. He was married on Dec. 26, 1961, in Jefferson City to Theresa Marie Brown who survives at home. Mr. Sullivan was a 1950 graduate of Hickman High School, Columbia, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree from the University of Missouri in 1960. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. After graduation, Mr. Sullivan was a reporter and night editor for the Jefferson City News Tribune. From 1962 to 1968 he served as Director of Tourism with Commerce and Industrial Development. In 1968 he began work with the Missouri Department of Conservation as an editor of publications, and retired as Director of Audio Visual Aids in 1991. His photographs for the Missouri Conservationist magazine have received international awards. Mr. Sullivan was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; National Audubon Society; Missouri Conservation Federation; and the Missouri Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. He was an active bicyclist, participating in bicycle tours of Missouri. He was a member of Learning in Retirement and the local AARP Chapter. Mark was a generous contributor to many organizations he researched and believed in. Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survivors include one daughter, Kathryn Davis, Jefferson City; two sons and their wives, Daniel and Ilsa Sullivan, Bethesda, Md.; and Matthew and Beth Sullivan, St. Louis, Mo.; and three grandsons: Austin Davis, David Sullivan, and Jacob Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 23rd, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Relief Services, 209 W.
