Marion O. Pettus

Marion O. Pettus, 91, of Holts Summit, died Friday, October 11, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born on October 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Ocea Miller Pettus and Clara Mable Pettus Black of Covington, Virginia. Marion spent most of her life in Covington, Virginia where she was employed by private Professional Services. Marion attended Garnett High School in Charleston, West Virginia. Prior to her moving to Jefferson City, Missouri, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington, Virginia. When she moved to Jefferson City, she became a member of Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to Prayer Service, Bible Study and Sunday Morning Worship Service. She was a member of Second Baptist W.M.U. Ms. Pettus was also a Bible Scholar. Leaving to cherish her memories is one son, Cecilroy J. Pettus of Jefferson City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Memorial Park in Holts Summit. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to W.M.U. in care of Second Baptist Church, 501 Monroe Street, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
