Marie Christine Hoeller

Marie Christine Hoeller, 79, of Koeltztown, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 12, 1933, in Meta, Mo., the daughter of the late Otto George and Barbara Marie (Rackers) Wankum. She was united in marriage on April 21, 1953, in Meta to August Henry Hoeller who preceded her in death on March 25, 1994. A homemaker, Marie also had worked for Tweedie Shoe Company. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown. Marie enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, and being on her farm. Survivors include: six children, Henry (Cynthia) Hoeller, Koeltztown; Margaret (Victor) Brandt, Koeltztown; Kathleen (Vince) Falter, Westphalia; John (Jane) Hoeller, Koeltztown; Kenneth (Michelle) Hoeller, Westphalia; Denice (Russell) Kesel, Taos; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Otto Wankum, Jr., Meta; a sister-in-law, Helen Wankum, Jefferson City; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Athmer, Pomme De Terre. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Herbert Hoeller; two sisters, Eleanor Athmer and Lorene Lattine; and a brother, Charles Wankum. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown with the Rev. Msgr. Marion Makarewicz officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe Street, Suite 100, Jefferson City, Mo 65101; or to Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1221 Southgate Lane, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
