Margaret Elizabeth Vaughan

Margaret Elizabeth Vaughan, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Heisinger Bluffs with her family by her side. She was born November 18, 1919, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late George and Sophia (Cortvrient) Hentges. She was united in marriage on June 21, 1941, in Jefferson City to Joseph Adolph Vaughan who preceded her in death on September 17, 2007. During World War II, Margaret worked for a Defense Plant in Jefferson City. After she was married to Joseph she became a homemaker and helped to raise their three children. Later in life, Margaret worked for Scholastic Magazine. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the St. Ann's Sodality, and volunteered with St. Peter Catholic School. She loved to go dancing with Joseph on Friday and Saturday nights. She also loved to play cards. Survivors include: three children, Larry (Debbie) Vaughan, Jefferson City; Richard (Linda) Vaughan, Naples, FL; Marylyn (Brice) Luetkemeyer, St. Elizabeth; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Hentges. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Celeste Laux, Agnes Mertens, Angeline Frank; and one brother, John Hentges. Visitation will be 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
