Margaret Augusta Fluegel

Margaret Fluegel (Margie), 84, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 22, 1932, to Agnes and Leo Hueste in Linn Missouri. She was the third daughter of eight children and is survived by her brothers, Charlie (Dot) Hueste and Ralph (Ellie) Hueste. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Marie Oldelehr and husband Joe, Leoba Hueste, and brothers: Ben, Al (surviving wife, Joey), and Stu (surviving wife, Joyce) Hueste. She met her husband, Roy Fluegel; a civilian and later a patrolman while working as a supervisor in the Criminal Records at MSHP General Headquarters. They were married on April 18, 1958, at St. George Catholic Church, Linn, MO and shared 59 wonderful, memorable years together. Her husband, Roy Fluegel, survives her. Margie was the beloved mother of three children, Heidi (David) Stanfield, Wendy (Kenny Bjorland) Fluegel, and Lori Fluegel. She instilled in her daughters and grandchildren from a young age the idea that they could be anything they wanted to be. She adored her grandchildren, Austin and Emma Stanfield, Annelise Baumgartner, Michelle (Kyle) Leonard, Kelsie, and Grace Bjorland and one great grandchild Audrey Leonard. NeNe taught them how to be strong and persevere. Her deep love for her family is a life-long gift of strength for all of them. Margie volunteered at St. Peters Elementary School and the Vogelweid Learning Center. She was a Brownie, Junior and Cadet Girl Scout leader and mentor to many young women. She always put others first. She was a person of great character, wisdom and strength. She relished nature and took pleasure in the beautiful gardens she created. Margie will be missed deeply by all who knew her through the years. Private family services will be held.
