MARY LOU MARTIN

May 4, 1939 — December 15, 2007

Mary Lou Martin, 68, of Taos, died Saturday, December 15, 2007, at her residence. She was born on May 4, 1939, in Odessa, Missouri, the daughter of Chancey Housted and Nellie May Raynes. She was married at Whiteman Air Force Base in 1973 to Kenneth Wayne Martin. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1997. Mary was a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, with an Associates of Arts degree in Business Management. Mrs. Martin worked for the Jefferson City Correctional Center as an executive assistant to the Activities Director where she retired in 2001. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Her passions included game shows, animals, bowling, and assisting her husband with Navy Sea Cadets. Her greatest love was her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: one daughter and a son-in-law, Janice and Norman J. Weavers, Taos; six grandchildren, Mathew T. Bledsoe; Patrick F. Weavers; Nicholas J. Weavers; Sara E. Bledsoe; Matthew R. Weavers; and Amelia C. Weavers; three great-grandchildren, Aiden M. Weavers; Tristen L. Rice; and Noah G. Weavers; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Raynes, Raymore, MO; two nephews, Paul Raynes; and Ron Raynes; and one niece, Lisa Raynes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her step-father, Don Robertson; and a brother, Ralph Raynes. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 919 E. Miller St., Jefferson City, MO 65101; or to the American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Rd., Jefferson City, Mo 65109.
